Hi everybody! How are you this week?
I’m fine … at home!
Today is Monday, July 6th.
Let’s go on working with “comparatives”!
1- I invite you to listen to this beautiful song.
2- Let’s work with these lines of the song. Listen to
it again and complete with: deep / taller / deeper
“………….. than the tallest tree is
That's how it's got to feel
………….. than the …………. blue see is
That's how ……………. it goes, if it's real”
That's how it's got to feel
………….. than the …………. blue see is
That's how ……………. it goes, if it's real”
So…let’s remember the rule to compare!
Adjective: tall (alto) Comparative form: tall + er = taller (más alto)
Adjective:
deep
(profundo) Comparartive form: deep + er = deeper
(más profundo)
3- Now, let’s concentrate on this phrase: “the tallest tree”. ¿Qué sucedió con el adjetivo en esta frase?
¿Qué cambió en él? ¿Por qué?
Yes! It’s an adjective in its “superlative form”. What does this mean? (Estamos ante la
presencia de un adjetivo en su forma superlativa. ¿Qué significa ésto?).
Adjective: tall (alto)
Superlative form: tall
+ est = tallest (el más
alto de todos)
4- So… what’s the message of the song? Complete the
phrase!
When somebody loves you all the way, that love is taller
than the ……………………tree
and deeper than the ……………………………..sea.
5- Can you investigate about these facts? Ask Google
the questions!
Which is the tallest tree in the world?........................................................
Which is the deepest see in the world?.......................................................
I’m waiting for your answers!
Love, Marcela.
